Description

The Swiss Federation of Mathematical Games (FSJM, https://fsjm.ch/en/home/) is a non profit association that promotes the study and practice of mathematics in Switzerland, through appropriate recreational means. The activities of the FSJM contribute to the promotion of MINT disciplines, in particular towards girls, but not only. The FSJM has contributed to MINT Vaud (https://mint-vaud.ch/) since 2024 and has participated in Math’émerveille 2025.

One of the FSJM main activities is the Championship of Mathematical and Logical Games, for which the FSJM organizes the Swiss qualifications to the International Final. In Switzerland, around 15’000 participants (mostly children and young persons) try their luck in the qualifying rounds, either through the school qualification channel or as individual participants. In recent years, around 3’600 of them have reached the regional semi-finals, and around 600 the Swiss Final. The top 60-70 go on to represent Switzerland at the International Final.

The planned event is a preparation camp for the qualified participants to the International Final of the Championship. Through several workshops, the participants will be offered the opportunity to train and develop problem solving strategies with professionals (mathematics teachers), and acquainted and former participants to the same competition.
